UNP-Beam

UNP beams are a type of steel beam characterized by their U-shaped profile with inwardly sloping flanges. UNP beams are used to provide structural strength and stability in various construction projects. They can be seen as a lighter variant of H-beams and are often used as a complement to these in areas with less load.
Usage areas for UNP beams also include floor support in buildings, edge beams in ramps, for example, and in industrial shelf systems of various sizes.

Our UNP beams are made of high-quality steel, which gives them good durability and resistance to corrosion and wear. They are available in a range of different sizes and lengths, making them a flexible choice for a variety of applications.

UPE beams, which also have a U-shaped profile, have largely started to replace UNP beams. The primary difference between these two types of beams lies in their structural design. UPE beams have parallel flanges with a constant thickness across the entire flange, while UNP beams have inwardly sloping flanges whose thickness varies between the outermost point and the beam itself. This difference makes UPE beams more suitable for applications where higher load capacity and greater stability are required.

WHAT CAN HUDDINGE STEEL DO?

UNP beams are flexible in terms of design and layout.

At Huddinge Steel, we offer quality assignments in cutting, welding, and painting of UNP beams.

The UNP beam is cut using band saws and circular saws. We have optically controlled cutting machines that enable fine-cut details. We deliver forged items in various shapes and qualities.

We cut, and clip, to the measurements and angles that you need.

We also offer welding of UNP beams according to your wishes. At Huddinge Steel, we have access to IWS competence for welding supervision for EXC2 entirely in accordance with SS EN 1090-2.

We also carry out painting of constructions with a length of up to 22 meters and a width of up to 4 meters. The painting is done in Huddinge and we do both primer and lacquering, class 1 to 5.
